Administrative Staff

Ms. Nora Buçaj

Principal

Ms. Bucaj brings 13 years of valued relevant experience both as an educator and as a Catholic school administrator.  She has served as a classroom teacher, a campus minister at an all boys Catholic High School, a dean of students, and most recently as Assistant Principal at St. Mary’s in Alexandria since 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pace University, and a Master of Science in Teaching, also from Pace University. She holds certification in Biology for grades 7-12 in the state of New York.


Mrs. Sharon Miller

Assistant Principal; 8th Teacher; Middle School Science

Mrs. Sharon Miller is the Assistant Principal, and middle school department head at Corpus Christi School. She teaches middle school science and is the science coordinator for all the elementary grades, K-8. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Miller attended the Jesuit University of Scranton and earned a BS in Medical Technology. After moving to this area, she worked as a research microbiologist at Hazelton Laboratories and as supervisor of the Microbiology Department at the Veterans Administration Hospital of DC.

As a member of the Corpus Christi School community since its opening in the fall of 1990, Mrs. Miller has been a parent, instructional assistant, and now a teacher in the intermediate and middle school grades for over ten years. A believer in life-long learning, Mrs. Miller finished her Master of Science in Geosciences while teaching at Corpus Christi. The culmination of the program was a research trip to the Sierra Nevada to collect data and specimens for her
thesis. She is now beginning a certification program in Catholic School Leadership.

Mrs. Miller is married with three children, who all graduated from Corpus Christi School. Mrs. Miller’s goal at Corpus Christi School is to work with all grade levels to excite students about the natural wonders God has placed in the world for us to explore and understand. She is an avid bird watcher and hiker and is still active as a merit badge counselor in her sons’ Boy Scout troop.


Mrs. Agnes Viray

School Nurse, RN, MS

Mrs. Agnes Viray enthusiastically joins Corpus Christi School as our full-time registered nurse. Mrs. Viray received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jersey City State College and a Master of Science in Nursing from Wright State University. She earned her post master’s certificate from the Catholic University of America as an adult health primary care nurse practitioner.

Spanning 43 years with nursing experience caring for adult and pediatric patients in hospital settings, Mrs. Viray has also worked as a nurse at an elementary school. She has been a clinical instructor at Montgomery College, George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College.

Her hobbies include gardening, reading, travel, spending time with family, and enjoying opera and ballet.


Mrs. Tina Doak

Office Manager/Communications

Mrs. Doak is now in her 17th year at Corpus Christi School.  She is the office manager and is responsible for overseeing the management of the main office and building security, as well as marketing and school communications, including the school website and social media.

 

Born and raised in West Virginia near Pittsburgh, PA, Mrs. Doak has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from West Liberty State College, West Virginia with an emphasis on marketing. Prior to working at Corpus Christi School, Mrs. Doak worked at TRW for 12 years as a systems engineer. She is married with two adult children, who attended the Early Childhood Center and graduated from the elementary campus.

Mrs. Doak enjoys working at Corpus Christi because she feels as if it is her second home.  She enjoys watching the students begin in the primary grades grow and mature into wonderful young adults.  It is always a pleasure for her when students return for a visit and talk about their fond memories of Corpus Christi School.

Primary Grades (K-2)

Miss Jessica Walker

Teacher: Kindergarten

Miss  Jessica Walker begins her second year as the kindergarten teacher at Corpus Christi School.  She is originally from the small town of Harrisonburg, Virginia.  The close-Miss Jessica Walker begins her third year as the kindergarten teacher at Corpus Christi School. She is originally from the small town of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and the close-knit community of Corpus Christi reminds her of home.

A graduate of George Mason University, Miss Walker has a degree in Integrative Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education. Prior to working in Early Childhood Education, Miss Walker was a site director for the Rockingham County Parks and Recreation Department in Harrisonburg, where for four years she was involved in daily programs for children. She then worked in pre-kindergarten classrooms for eight years and was the curriculum specialist at a preschool in Alexandria.

Miss Walker has a true passion for early education and enjoys contributing to the first learning experiences of every student with whom she works.


Miss Allison Boak

Teacher: Grade 1

Miss Allison Boak is joining Corpus Christi School as a first grade teacher. She holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Marymount University. Miss Boak previously worked at Corpus Christi as a kindergarten instructional aide. After completing her degree, she taught kindergarten for a year.

Miss Boak is from Springfield, Virginia and was educated in diocesan schools. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Franciscan University. Miss Boak has a love of Catholic schools, as she believes in the importance of teaching the whole child. In her free time, she enjoys training for races, reading, and playing the mandolin. She is a parishioner at St. Rita’s Church in Alexandria, Virginia. Ms. Boak is eager to returning to the Corpus Christi faculty and the community in which she began her teaching.


Ms. Adrienne Stoops

Teacher: Grade 2

Miss Adrienne Stoops is joining Corpus Christi School as the second grade teacher. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in both Education/Special Education as well as English.  She is currently working on going back to school to receive her Master’s degree in Elementary Education. Miss Stoops was previously a first grade teacher at a private school in Woodbridge.

Miss Stoops is from Manassas Park, Virginia. She attended St. Andrew the Apostle School and Paul VI Catholic High School. Miss Stoops is a parishioner at St. Andrews in Clifton, Virginia.

Miss Adrienne Stoops wants every one of her students to have a love of learning within her classroom. She enjoys being a positive role model in a young child’s life. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her two furry puppies.

Intermediate Grades (3-5)

Miss Shireen Malakooti

Mrs. Lynn Schab

Teacher: Grade 4

Mrs. Lynn Schab has been part of the Corpus Christi School community since 1991. Mrs. Schab attended Mount St. Mary’s College. Following graduation, she worked for the Muscular Dystrophy Association working with children suffering from neuromuscular diseases, as well as being responsible for major fundraising events throughout Maryland.

After having children, Mrs. Schab began volunteering and then working in the classroom at Corpus Christi School. She began as a first grade teaching assistant, and then continued as a first grade teacher for 10 years and second grade teacher for one year. Currently, she teaches fourth and fifth grade language arts and social studies and is also the department chair for the intermediate grades. Prior to teaching, Mrs. Schab was very involved as a parent on the PTO and was co-chair of the Corpus Christi marketing committee, which helped to develop the school’s original logo.

As the moderator for the Student Council Association, Mrs. Schab encourages and promotes many community service activities. She also coordinates the Intermediate Showcase and the fourth grade trip to Jamestown.

Mrs. Schab is married with three grown children, who graduated from Corpus Christi School. In Mrs. Schab’s free time, she enjoys running in races throughout the D.C. area, managing the backstage of the Burke Civic Ballet’s Nutcracker and Buffa’s Dance Studio’s yearly recital productions, and tends to her garden as often as possible. Mrs. Schab feels blessed that for over 20 years she has called Corpus Christi School her family.

Mrs. Debbie Krafchek

Teacher: 6th Grade Homeroom; English 6 & 7; Reading 6; Literature 8

Mrs. Krafchek is the sixth grade homeroom teacher at Corpus Christi School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Fairmont State University, with prior teaching experience both in her home state of West Virginia and in Arlington County, Virginia. Mrs. Krafchek has spent much of her 17-year tenure at Corpus Christi as the school librarian, where she taught research skills and literature appreciation. More recently, she became part of the school’s language arts program, teaching sixth and seventh grade English as well as sixth, seventh and eighth grade literature.

In addition to teaching, Mrs. Krafchek wears “many hats” at Corpus Christi. She is the sponsor of the school yearbook, in which she leads a staff of talented eighth grade students in the book’s creation and production. She also helps organize the school spelling bee and 8th grade Ellis Island Simulation.

Working in a Catholic school has given Mrs. Krafchek the opportunity to live and share her faith with an outstanding group of colleagues and young people. She feels blessed to be a part of the Corpus Christi community.

Instructional Faculty (K-8)

Mrs. Tikia Reynolds

Teacher: Art K-8

Mrs. Tikia Reynolds is excited to be returning to Corpus Christi for her fifth year as Visual Arts teacher for the elementary and middle school campus. In addition to teaching art, she is also the sponsor for the Middle School Art Club and the Dance Club for grades 5-8. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Ms. Bonner attended Virginia Commonwealth University for Art Education and graduated from Virginia State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. During and after college, Ms. Bonner worked as a K-12 substitute in the Henrico, Chesterfield, and Prince William County School systems. She worked as a summer camp counselor for a child care program in Virginia and later for the YMCA in Reston, Virginia.

An active member of the McLean Bible Church in McLean, Virginia, Ms. Bonner enjoys painting, traveling, skiing, biking, and hiking in her spare time. She is excited to be incorporating various concepts, art materials, and subject matter into her lessons and projects and hopes to foster an appreciation for the visual arts in her students.


Mrs. Maureen Braun

Teacher: PE & Health; Extended Day Director

Mrs. Braun is returning for her sixth year at Corpus Christi School. She teaches PE to grades K-8 and Health to the Middle School. Mrs. Braun has a long history with Corpus Christi. She has four children who graduated from the school. She loves the school for the unique environment that is apparent upon entering the building.

Mrs. Braun earned a B.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Upon graduation, she moved to the D.C. area and worked for 13 years in database management for a defense contractor. Then Mrs. Braun’s career changed tracks. She decided to stay home and raise her four children and then turned to teaching. Mrs. Braun has always been active in athletics and fitness, is certified as a NASM personal trainer, and teaches various exercise classes. She is also certified in First AID, CPR, and AED.

Raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Braun continues to be a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She loves teaching her students about healthy choices, methods to improve their talents, and physical fitness.


Mrs. Kathryn McNerney

Teacher: Library K-5; Resource-Primary Grades

Mrs. Kathryn McNerney is the K-5 librarian, and resource teacher for the primary grades. Mrs. McNerney holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from American University. She has also completed the coursework to be a reading specialist through George Mason University.

In 1993, Mrs. McNerney began her teaching career as a fifth grade teacher at Corpus Christi School. She also taught music and fourth grade before taking a break in 2000 to begin a family. She taught music at St. John’s in McLean and St. Charles in Arlington before returning to Corpus Christi. Over the years, Mrs. McNerney has taught preschool, second grade, and the intermediate grades, as well as music for preschool through eighth grade. She is one of the directors of the annual Shakespeare play.

Mrs. McNerney plays guitar with the folk group at Our Lady Queen of Peace parish in Arlington, and enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling. She is married with children. Two are Corpus Christi graduates, and the third is currently in the middle school.
